Coaxial electrospinning
The most popular bi-component electrospinning is coaxial electrospinning. Coaxial spinneret can produce Hollow nanofibers/microfibers, Core/Sheath nanofibers/microfibers. Using the coaxial electrospinning method, different characteristics from each polymer can be combined into one fiber. Some polymers with low spinnability could be spun using this spinneret. The onewith good spinnability should be used as core fiber, and another one with low spinnability should be made to sheath. Non-spinnable materials such as oligomers, metal salts, enzymes, and liquids can also be immobilized in fibers to make functional nanofibers by coaxial electrospinning.
Coaxial eletrospinning is not limited to produce core/shell nanofibers, systems with buckling, drop-shape inclusions inside a continuous shell can also be made by controlling the viscosity of inner and outer solutions.
Gas-assisted/Gas-jacketed electrospinning/Electrospinning spinneret
By using the coaxial spinneret, hot blowing air, inert gas, or other kinds of gases can be used at the outer needle to create a flowing gas jacket in order to 1)reduce the clogging of the spinneret when volatile solution is used in electrospinning; 2) decreased the viscosity of solution, 3) enhanced the evaporation of solvent and 4) stretched the jet.
The blowing air also can be applied on multi-jets electrospinning for mass production of nanofibers.
Advantage: No clogging at the spinneret; The temperature and humidity of gas can be easily controlled; Electrospinning of high viscous solution is possible.
Coaxial electrospinning Features:

(1) Both outside & inner needles are changeable.
(2) Super long needle, low voltage needed.
(3) Small quantity solution used, no waste.
(4) All parts are changeable, easy to clean.
(5) Length difference between out and inner needle is 1.5mm max.
(6) Luer lock connector.
(7) Insulation holder. Spinning angle & height can be adjusted freely.
(8) Good coaxiality.
Coaxial electrospinning & Triaxial spinerets are supplied with many different combinations. The needles can be changed easily, many choices for diameter and length as follows,
Coaxial spinneret:
(You can also make your own Needle combinations, as long as a smaller needle can be inserted to a bigger needle, they can make a coaxial spinneret. )
